Karen McDonald (née Phillips) is a fictional character on the long-running British soap opera, Coronation Street. She was played by Suranne Jones. Karen was the feisty and volatile wife of Steve McDonald. It is rumoured that Jones will return to Street in 2010 for the programme's 50th anniversary landmark, it has not however been confirmed yet.
